PIPSICO Summer Camp 2025

Summer camp is right around the corner! Planning on joining us for camp? The troop is going to PIPSICO BSA Summer Camp (57 Pipsico Road, Spring Grove, VA 23881), Week 1 (June 22-28, 2025).
Scouts have the opportunity to pick from more than 50 Merit Badge programs available to capture the interests of all Scouts. Besides Merit Badge Sessions, other activities include "Rumble in the Aquadrome", Campfires, Climbing and Rappelling, Free Swim, Learn to Swim and Shooting Competitions to name a few.

Merit Badges: Pipsco is accepting Summer Camp enrollments now. Merit Badge selection beginning April 5, 2025 for scouts that have made a minimum deposit of $150.

You want to go to camp (Of Course You Do!) - What to do now?
- Let us know you plan on attending camp (you can email us via TroopTrack email and update calendar)
- Check out your Session options and pick your options
- Submit your selections to Paul or Sharon Gardner. You can email your options.
- Submit your payment to the troop.

- For Merit Badge Registration, PIPSICO will only allow Merit Badge Selections for scouts that have paid a minimum of $125.
- Merit Badge Class Enrollment is open starting March TBD.
- Submit your payment to the troop. Write a check to Troop 189 or Zelle the treasurer (Shannon Howell) at bsatroop189treasurer@gmail.com. Please note scout/scouter with payment.
Paperwork, the necessary evil:
- Schedule and take your physical. This must be done for all Scouts and Scouters.
- Submit 2 copies of your BSA Medical Form (Part C signed by medical professional) and 2 copies of your Health Insurance card or TRICARE proof of insurance. Date of physical must be less than a year before camp.
- Have Food Allergies? The Food Allergy form needs to be given to camp at least 3 weeks BEFORE camp.
- Permission form coming soon. The exact time to meet will be set out when we get our assigned arrival timeslot from camp.

Ready to start packing?
- Troop 189 specific Packing List to come soon. Want an advance idea? Check the Camp Guide above.
- If you don't already have one, get a Rubbermaid Action Packer Storage Container (24 gallon) for storing items that go to camp. We prefer all campers use this particular item to make packing the trailer easier. These can be found at REI, Walmart, online (i.e. Amazon), etc.
